There was a surprise result in Stabia where thirteenth ranked Ancona (5-21) defeated higher ranked Castellammare (14-12) 68-63 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Castellammare won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Carola Sordi (181-82) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian power forward Kristina Ostojic (190-91) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (169-90) responded with 20 points and guard Maria Gallo (168-92) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Ancona moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Castellammare keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost.
