Rather predictable result when third ranked Vicenza (18-8) smashed at home 5th ranked Alpo VR (13-13) 70-46 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Vicenza. Alpo VR was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alpo VR to just 3 points in fourth quarter. Vicenza dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Alpo VR's 26. Forward Lucia Ferri (182-85) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Anna Colombo (177-92) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four Vicenza players scored in double figures. Vicenza's coach Aldo Corno felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Giulia Monica (169-87) scored 9 points. Vicenza maintains third position in A2 with 18-8 record having ten points less than leader Broni. Loser Alpo VR keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost.
