Regular Season Round 23: Toulouse - Bourges 58-70

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Bourges (18-4) beat on the road 12th ranked Toulouse (5-18) 70-58. It looked good early as Toulouse took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bourges had a 17-12 second period charge getting the lead and Toulouse was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-70. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Toulouse to just 6 points in third quarter. Bourges players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Ingrid Tanqueray (166-88) who scored 17 points. International swingman Celine Dumerc (169-82, agency: Comsport) chipped in 5 points and 7 assists. International point guard Olivia Epoupa (165-94, agency: Comsport) produced 15 points and 6 assists and guard Touty Gandega (170-91) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 18-4 record having four points less than leader Lattes Montp. Toulouse lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Bourges' next round opponent will be Nantes Reze (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Toulouse will play against Lyon (#7) and hope to win that game.
