Regular Season Round 54: Takamatsu FA - Hamamatsu P. 73-75

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (33-15) edged on the road 11th ranked Takamatsu FA (11-36) 75-73 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Takamatsu FA won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Takamatsu FA 38-23 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) who scored 7 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 20 points. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who recorded 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Nino Johnson (206-93, college: SE Missouri St.) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Akita NH. Takamatsu FA lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 36 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face league's leader Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar.
