Very important is a road loss of third ranked Obras Basket (28-23) against fourth ranked CASLA (29-22) on Monday night. Visiting Obras Basket was defeated by CASLA in a tough game in Almagra 78-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Obras Basket. It looked good early as Obras Basket took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CASLA had a 26-21 second period charge getting the lead and Obras Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-86. CASLA made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Roquez Johnson (201-92, college: Mississippi St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Dennis Horner (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Obras Basket. Five CASLA and four Obras Basket players scored in double figures. CASLA moved-up to third place. Obras Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 23 games lost. CASLA will play against Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Obras Basket will have a break next round.
