Regular Season Round 5: Cimarrones - Aguilas 94-63

An interesting game for Cimarrones (4-1) which hosted in Quibdo-Choco 4th placed Patriotas (2-3). First ranked Cimarrones had an easy win 94-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Patriotas. Cimarrones forced 28 Patriotas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Rodrigo Caicedo (180-88) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Sperling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. American forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chris Fisher (183, college: East Central) added 10 points and 7 assists in the effort for Patriotas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with Condores and Academia. Defending champion Patriotas dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Bucaros. Cimarrones is again looking forward to face Patriotas (#5) in Boyaca in the next round. Patriotas will have a break next round.
