Regular Season Round 27: Hitachi SR - Mitsubishi DD 65-72

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Hitachi Sunrockers (31-16) lost to seventh ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (22-26) in Tokyo 65-72 on Monday. It was a good game for American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mitsubishi Dolphins have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 22-26 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the fourth position with 16 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will face higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
