Regular Season Round 6: Cimarrones - Aguilas 95-65

Liga DirecTV top team - Cimarrones (5-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Patriotas (2-4) in Quibdo-Choco 95-65. Cimarrones dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 40. Cimarrones forced 25 Patriotas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) who scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Sperling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) who recorded 24 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) added 10 points and 15 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Academia. Defending champion Patriotas dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Sabios. Cimarrones will meet Bucaros (#5) in the next round. Patriotas will play against Piratas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
