There was no surprise when 14th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-23) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Hapoel Afula (18-8) 103-63 on Tuesday. Hapoel Afula dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Ashkelon's 24. Hapoel Afula forced 22 Ironi Ashkelon turnovers and outrebounded them 52-34 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hapoel Afula looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Ironi Ashkelon's players. The best player for the winners was forward Magd Owayed (201-91, college: Cardinal Stritch) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Gal Tesler (186-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. Guard Alon Levin (188-95) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Alon Abramovich (192-93) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
