Second Stage Round 6: Tadamon - Homenetmen 106-72

Pepsi LBL round 6 caused change at the leadership position. Eighth defeat of league's leader Homenetmen (14-8) against second ranked Tadamon (14-8) 106-72 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Homenetmen. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Tadamon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Homenetmen's 30 and made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Homenetmen only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Homenetmen 51-26 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tadamon looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Homenetmen's players. It was a good game for Serbian swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Desmond Penigar (201-81, college: Utah St.) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Tadamon players scored in double figures. American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Justin Tubbs (190-87, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Homenetmen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tadamon keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Homenetmen.
