Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Charleville-Mezieres and 13th ranked Chorale de Roanne had identical 11-15 record. This time Charleville-Mezieres used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Roanne 77-71 on Tuesday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chorale de Roanne won third quarter 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Chorale de Roanne used huge pressure winning it 14-11 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-15. Charleville-Mezieres forced 19 Chorale de Roanne turnovers. It was a good game for American Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Anthony Racine (190-94) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Chorale de Roanne. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres (12-15) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Vichy Clermont. Loser Chorale de Roanne dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face higher ranked Saint-Quentin (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chorale de Roanne will play against Saint Chamond and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
