Important game to mention about took place in Tijuana. Third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (11-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (7-12) 91-88 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Ostioneros de Guaymas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tijuana Zonkeys' 38. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and power forward Mike Dabney (203-88, college: Bowling Green) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Dabney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) did not help to save the game for Tijuana Zonkeys. Guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan) added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Tijuana Zonkeys keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Ostioneros de Guaymas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tijuana Zonkeys will play again at home against the league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
