Regular Season Round 6: Piratas - Academia 80-88
Date: April 12, 2016
Bottom-ranked Piratas (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Academia (5-1) 88-80. Academia had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Puerto Rican-Dominican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 4 assists. Canadian swingman Tyler Murray (195-90, college: Wagner) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Academia players scored in double figures. American swingman Antonio Davis (196-82, college: Urbana) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Venezuelan power forward Keving Palacios (201-84, college: S.Carolina) added 25 points and 4 assists in the effort for Piratas. Academia have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cimarrones. Piratas at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Academia's next round opponent will be Condores (#3) in Cundinamarca, which may be the game of the day.
