Everything went according to plan in Tel-Aviv where second ranked Maccabi T-A (20-8) beat 7th ranked Maccabi Rishon (13-15) 82-69 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 assists and American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) who added 13 points and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-8 record behind leader Hapoel J-M. Maccabi Rishon lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Maccabi T-A will face Ironi Nahariya (#6) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Maccabi Haifa and hope to win that game.
