Second Stage Round 6: Sagesse - Moutahed 79-84

An interesting game for Al Moutahed (13-9) which played road game in Beirut against 4th ranked Sagesse (7-15). Second ranked Al Moutahed managed to get a 5-point victory 84-79. After very bad start, Sagesse stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 3 points 36-33. But it was not enough and Al Moutahed took back the control in second half. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sagesse to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a great shooting night for Al Moutahed especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was international swingman Omar El Ayoubi (196-91) who scored 15 points. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Hayk Gyokchyan (203-90, college: Franklin & Marshall) who recorded 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard George Yves Daaboul (178-95) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Al Moutahed maintains second position with 13-9 record behind leader Al Riyadi. Sagesse at the other side keeps the fourth place with 15 games lost.
