Regular Season Round 28: Rosa Radom - Trefl Sopot 73-64

Very expected game in Radom where 15th ranked Trefl (7-23) was defeated by second ranked Rosa (23-7) 73-64. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-19 Trefl's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 73-64 at the end of the game. The winners were led by Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and American C.J. Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest) supported him with 22 points. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) did not help to save the game for Trefl. Croatian Josip Bilinovac (191-90) added 10 points for lost side. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Rosa maintains second position with 23-7 record behind leader Stelmet ZG, which they share with Torun. Trefl at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with 23 games lost. Rosa's next round opponent will be AZS Polfarmex (#6) in Kutno. Trefl will play at home against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#12) and hope to win that game.
