The game in Tbilisi supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Kutaisi (17-9) played at the court of 7th ranked Olimpi (9-17). Kutaisi smashed Olimpi 103-77. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Kutaisi's pressure prevailed and they won that period 34-15 extending their advantage to 26 points. Kutaisi outrebounded Olimpi 45-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Forward Giorgi Barbakadze (203-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashaev (188-83) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Coach Kote Tugushi's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. British V.Islands forward Leslie Smith (203-91, college: Nebraska) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Mont.St.-Billings) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Olimpi. Kutaisi maintains second position with 17-9 record behind leader Batumi. Olimpi lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 17 games lost. Kutaisi's next round opponent will be Energy Invest (#6) in Rustavi.
