Semi-Finals Game 1: Khimik - Cherkasy 86-75

Khimik topped Cherkasy to take 1-0 lead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Cherkasy was better in second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cherkasy's 22. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Khimik's coach Oleg Yushkin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Oleksandr Kobets (194-96) came up with 20 points and naturalized Moldovan center Stanislav Zavadsky (213-87) added 19 points respectively for Cherkasy in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
