Leader Cimarrones delivered the seventh victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Bucaros (3-5) 97-81 in Bucaramanga. Cimarrones players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Sperling is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Mexican Leonardo Salazar answered with 28 points and 4 assists and American guard Prince Obasi (193-91, college: Seattle, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 9 assists in the effort for Bucaros. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Cimarrones. They maintain first place with 7-1 record, which they share with Academia. Bucaros at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Halcones. Cimarrones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bucaros will play again at home against the league's leader Cimarrones (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
