Regular Season Round 28: Maccabi Ashdod - Hapoel T-A 80-95

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv and 9th ranked Maccabi Ashdod had identical 11-16 record. But Maccabi Ashdod was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Tel-Aviv 95-80 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Ashdod was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) who added 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Sharon Avrahami used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv maintains eighth position with 12-16 record. Maccabi Ashdod lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will face Hapoel Holon (#10) at home in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
