Regular Season Round 7: Sabios - Halcones 69-55

Everything could happen in Manizales at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Sabios and 7th ranked Halcones had identical 3-4 record. This time Sabios used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Cucuta 69-55 on Friday night. It was a great evening for the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Canadian guard Shamar Coombs (185-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) helped adding 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Venezuelan power forward Jesus Martinez (206-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City, agency: CGL Sports) scored 18 points. Halcones' coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sabios. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Condores. Halcones lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Bucaros. Sabios will again meet at home Halcones (#6) in the next round. Halcones will have a break next round.
