Regular Season Round 26: Batumi - MIA Academy 110-89

Superleague top team - Batumi (18-8) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked MIA (5-21) 110-89. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Batumi outrebounded MIA 49-31 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by MIA's players. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-85) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Akaki Dvalishvili (206-91) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Batumi players scored in double figures. Batumi's coach Davit Ustiashvili felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Akaki Lomouri (198-91) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Merab Bokolishvili (196-92) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Batumi have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-8 record. MIA lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion stay dead last with 21 lost games. Batumi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. MIA will play against Energy Invest (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
