Regular Season Round 7: Aguilas - Piratas 78-73

Bottom-ranked Piratas (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-73 loss to sixth ranked Patriotas (3-4) in Boyaca on Friday evening. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Chris Fisher (183, college: East Central) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Antonio Davis (196-82, college: Urbana) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Piratas lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Patriotas will again meet at home bottom-ranked Piratas (#8) in the next round. Piratas will have a break next round.
