Regular Season Round 5: Nunawading S. - Bendigo LB 90-81

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Spectres (4-2) defeated 3rd placed Lady Braves (1-2) in East Burwood 90-81 on Saturday. Spectres had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spectres made 9 blocks. American guard Amy Kame (183-92, college: San Diego) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four Spectres players scored in double figures. International guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) answered with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Keely Froling (188-96, college: SMU) added 24 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lady Braves. Spectres maintains first place in League with 4-2 record. Loser Lady Braves dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Spectres will face Brisbane Spartans (#4) on the road in the next round. Lady Braves will play against Lady Bandits and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
