Regular Season Round 28: Orchies - Bourg 75-78

Eighteenth-ranked Orchesien BC (7-21) gave a tough game to fifth ranked JL Bourg (17-11) in Orchies on Saturday. The visitors from Bourg managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Orchesien BC won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Orchesien BC outrebounded JL Bourg 37-22 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for JL Bourg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Quincy Taylor (194-82, college: UAB) who added 12 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Jared Newson (205-84, college: Tenn-Martin) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Chris Daniels (200-82, college: Georgia) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. JL Bourg moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Orchesien BC lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. JL Bourg will face Chorale de Roanne (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Orchesien BC will play against Denain Voltaire and hope to win that game.
