Regular Season Round 26: Sant Adria - Alcobendas 62-54

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Alcobendas (23-3) in Sant Adria de Besos on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Sant Adria (19-7) 62-54. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Alcobendas. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sant Adria forced 28 Alcobendas turnovers. Strangely Alcobendas outrebounded Sant Adria 34-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. Swingman Itziar Llobet (180-93, college: Kent St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points. Power forward Marta Claret (185-92) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Sant Adria's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Aitana Cuevas (187-86) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and center Marta Garcia (193-86) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alcobendas. Sant Adria maintains third position in Group B with 19-7 record having four points less than leader Alcobendas. Alcobendas at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost.
