Regular Season Round 55: Akita NH - Aomori Watts 96-77

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Akita Happinets (34-15) crushed at home 8th ranked Aomori Watts (22-27) 96-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Aomori Watts was better in third quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while Aomori Watts only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Aomori Watts 49-24 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aomori Watts were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Richard Roby (198-85, agency: CGL Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) answered with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They maintain third place with 34-15 record having just two points less than leader Okinawa GK. Loser Aomori Watts keep the eighth position with 27 games lost. Akita Happinets will face again Aomori Watts (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
