Regular Season Round 6: Stirling S. - Perth Redbacks 107-103

There was no surprise in Perth where 11th ranked Redbacks (2-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Stirling S. (5-2) 107-103 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Stirling S. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Redbacks' 42. They outrebounded Redbacks 60-34 including a 44-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Stirling S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Cody Ellis (203-90, college: St.Louis) who scored 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kyle Lindbergh (201-91, college: Dordt, agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 blocks. Lindbergh is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Stirling S.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-French guard Jourdan Demuynck (198-90, college: Prairie View A&M, agency: HMS) who recorded a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Joel Wagner (181-87) added 23 points respectively. Five Stirling S. and four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Stirling S. moved-up to third place in League. Loser Redbacks keep the eleventh position with four games lost. Stirling S. will face Buccaneers (#7) in Wonthella in the next round. Redbacks will play at home against Eagles (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
