Regular Season Round 5: Albury LB - Launceston T. 72-74

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Lady Bandits (0-3) were edged by leader Tornadoes (4-0) in Albury 74-72 on Saturday. Guard Alex Wilson (174-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ellie Junod (183-93) answered with 19 points and guard Molly Lewis (182-89) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lady Bandits. Four Lady Bandits players scored in double figures. Tornadoes keep a position of League leader. Loser Lady Bandits still closes the standings with three games lost. Tornadoes will face league's second-placed Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lady Bandits will play on the road against Lady Braves (#6) in Bendigo and hope to get finally their first victory.
