Everything could happen in Alexandria at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Comets and 4th placed Sharks had identical 1-1 record. This time Comets used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Sutherland 94-65 on Saturday night. Comets made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Sharks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Rhiaan Te-Hira orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 assists. Bree Delaney contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Taylor Mathers answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Clare Thomson-Boston added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Sharks. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Comets (2-1) moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Sharks dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Comets will face North Bears (#5) in Crows Nest in the next round. Sharks will play on the road against Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in Narrabeen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
