Rather predictable result when sixth ranked North Bears (2-1) won against bottom-ranked Hills Hornets (0-2) in Baulkham Hills 71-57 on Saturday. North Bears outrebounded Hills Hornets 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 9 blocks. American guard Kallie Hovatter (175-89, college: Elon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Kathryn Rendall contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Wendy Strong answered with 12 points and Emma Claus added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hills Hornets. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
