We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when bottom-ranked Wildcats (0-5) lost to eleventh ranked Cougars (1-3) in Eltham 58-74 on Saturday. Cougars outrebounded Wildcats 45-34 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Shanae Greaves (183-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Swingman Jessica May (180-89) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) answered with 17 points and forward Faith Probst (186-84, college: Fresno St.) added 5 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Wildcats. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cougars left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Wildcats still closes the standings with five games lost. Cougars will face league's leader Sharks in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wildcats will play against the league's second-placed Hawks (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
