Regular Season Round 5: Mandurah M. - Willetton T. 67-78

Date: April 16, 2016
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Magic (2-2) lost to leader Tigers (5-0) in Mandurah 67-78 on Saturday. Tigers forced 24 Magic turnovers. Strangely Magic outrebounded Tigers 47-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Kate Malpass (176-88) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Guard Rachel Halleen (-90) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American center Adijat Adams (187-92, college: Biola, CA) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Magic. Magic's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tigers keep a position of League leader. Loser Magic dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Tigers will face Suns (#8) in Kalamunda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magic will play at home against the league's second-placed Flames and hope to win that game.
