Everything could happen in Mt. Barker at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Mavericks and bottom-ranked Lions had identical 0-4 record. This time Mavericks used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Gawler 94-60 on Saturday night. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 40. Mavericks forced 28 Lions turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mavericks made 7 blocks. American guard Tracey Carrington (175-93, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Shayde Quintrell contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Mavericks players scored in double figures.
