Regular Season Round 8: Bucaros - Cimarrones 52-92

Liga DirecTV top team - Cimarrones (7-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Bucaros (3-5) in Bucaramanga 92-52. They outrebounded Bucaros 45-32 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cimarrones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the former international power forward Enielsen Guevara (204-82) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Cimarrones' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by guard Daniel Restrepo (190-84) did not help to save the game for Bucaros. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) added 11 points for the hosts. Cimarrones have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Academia. Bucaros at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Aguilas and Halcones. Cimarrones will meet at home Sabios (#4) in the next round. Bucaros will play against Piratas in Bogota and hope to secure a win.
