There was no surprise when 12th ranked Olimpico 64 (7-19) lost to ninth ranked Picken Claret (12-14) in Valencia 44-62 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Picken Claret's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-10 extending their advantage to 18 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 33-9 including a 23-6 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Patricia Soler (186-94, agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 8 rebounds. Marta Rabassa contributed with 9 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Picken Claret's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Irene Sempere (187-87) replied with 9 points and power forward Carlota Egusquiza (182-87) added 9 points in the effort for Olimpico 64. Newly promoted Picken Claret maintains ninth position in Group B with 12-14 record. Olimpico 64 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh place with 19 games lost.
