Regular Season Round 6: Nunawading S. - Bendigo B. 69-72

There was a minor upset in East Burwood where 4th ranked Spectres (2-3) were edged by fourth ranked Bendigo Braves (3-1) 72-69 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Kevin White (189-87, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Bendigo Braves' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matt O'Hea (196-82) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Shane McDonald (188-85, college: Nova SE) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Spectres players scored in double figures. Bendigo Braves moved-up to second place in League. Loser Spectres dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Bendigo Braves will face league's second-placed Bandits in Albury in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spectres will play on the road against Brisbane Spartans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
