There was an upset when higher ranked Kilsyth Cobras (3-2) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Dandenong Rangers (1-2) 93-79 on Saturday. Dandenong Rangers made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Kilsyth Cobras were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Daequon Montreal (201-87, college: Boise St.) who scored 30 points. Guard Andrew Harms (193-85, college: Metro St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Joel Naburgs (193-90, college: Stetson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and center Timothy Lang (206-85, college: Stetson) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kilsyth Cobras' coach let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dandenong Rangers left bottom position moving up to sixth place in League. Loser Kilsyth Cobras keep the third position with two games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face Frankston Blues (#7) in Seaford in the next round. Kilsyth Cobras will play at home against Tigers (#7) and hope to win that game.
