Regular Season Round 29: Le Mans - Rouen 82-81

Seventeenth-ranked SPO Rouen (5-24) made lots of trouble for second ranked Le Mans (20-9) on Saturday. Le Mans managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected much easier game. SPO Rouen cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guerschon Yabusele (201-95, agency: Comsport) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Congolese Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85, agency: Comsport) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Le Mans have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 20-9 record having just two points less than leader Monaco, which they share with Strasbourg. SPO Rouen lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. Le Mans is looking forward to face JDA Dijon (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SPO Rouen will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
