Everything could happen in Marden at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Norwood Flames and second-best North Adelaide Rockets had identical 3-1 record. This time Norwood Flames used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Greenacres 86-70 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Norwood Flames. North Adelaide Rockets was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Norwood Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by North Adelaide Rockets' players. The best player for the winners was Irish guard Ian O'Boyle (191-84, college: NJIT) who scored 27 points. Guard Matthew Lycett (194-90) chipped in 9 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Norwood Flames' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Brad Jonnek who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Cody Rhorer (185, college: Trinity Christian) added 19 points respectively. Four North Adelaide Rockets players scored in double figures. Norwood Flames (4-1) moved-up to second place in League. Loser North Adelaide Rockets dropped to the third position with two games lost. Norwood Flames will face Eastern Mavericks (#9) in Mt. Barker in the next round and are hoping to win another game. North Adelaide Rockets will play at home against Central District Lions (#7) and hope to win that game.
