Regular Season Round 34: Jurmala - Ventspils 77-96

The game between Top Four teams took place in Jurmala. 4th ranked host Jurmala (20-16) was smashed by second ranked Ventspils (27-7) 96-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Jurmala. The game was mostly controlled by Ventspils. Jurmala was better in third quarter 21-15. Even 17 points and 5 assists by guard Edmunds Elksnis (187-90) did not help to save the game for Jurmala. Forward Janis Dilevka (200-88) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ventspils have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 27-7 record behind leader Valmiera. Jurmala at the other side keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. Ventspils will play against Barons Riga (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Jurmala will have a break next round.
