Regular Season Round 8: Aguilas - Piratas 66-71

Another exciting game for Piratas (1-7) which played in Boyaca against 5th ranked Patriotas (3-5). Eighth ranked Piratas won 71-66. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Antonio Davis (196-82, college: Urbana) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and Venezuelan power forward Keving Palacios (201-84, college: S.Carolina) who added 13 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. American forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) responded with 30 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Piratas maintains eighth position with 1-7 record. Defending champion Patriotas keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Halcones and Bucaros. Piratas will play against higher ranked Bucaros (#6) in Bucaramanga in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Patriotas will play at home against the league's second-placed Academia and will have a slim chance for a victory.
