There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Roma S.Azzurra (10-19) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Isernia (5-24) 77-72 on Saturday. Isernia forced 23 Roma S.Azzurra turnovers. Strangely Roma S.Azzurra outrebounded Isernia 36-21 including a 23-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Roma S.Azzurra was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Giovanni Poggi (204-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Giovanni Esposito (204-94) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Njegos Sikiras (205-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Emanuele Trapani (181-99) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Roma S.Azzurra. Four Roma S.Azzurra players scored in double figures. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Germano D'Arcangeli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Isernia moved-up to fourteenth place in B. Loser Roma S.Azzurra dropped to the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Isernia will face higher ranked Catanzaro (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
