Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Lobos UAD Mazatlan (11-9) and Vaqueros (7-11), which took place in Mazatlan. 4th placed Lobos UAD Mazatlan lost at home to ninth ranked Vaqueros 99-110. They made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Vaqueros shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Lobos UAD Mazatlan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 26 points. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Kourtney Roberson (206-90, college: Texas A&M) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and point guard Curtis Stinson (191-83, college: Iowa St.) added 11 points and 10 assists respectively. Four Vaqueros and five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Vaqueros maintains ninth place with 7-11 record, which they share with Los Mochis. Lobos UAD Mazatlan at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Vaqueros' next round opponent will be higher ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
