Rather predictable result in Hornsby where sixth ranked Spiders (3-3) outscored 10th ranked Hawks (1-5) 91-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Joshua Chapman who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward David Hazzard (196, college: E.Wyoming JC) chipped in 17 points. Five Spiders players scored in double figures. Spiders' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and Keelan Ward added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Spiders maintains sixth position in League with 3-3 record. Loser Hawks dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. Spiders will face higher ranked Bankstown Bruins (#5) in Condell Park in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hawks will play on the road against Maitland Mustangs (#7) and hope to win that game.
