Second Stage Round 11: Sparta - Basket Esch 69-74

Date: April 16, 2016
Rather expected game in Bertrange where 6th ranked Sparta (7-21) was defeated by fourth ranked Basket Esch (15-13) 74-69 on Saturday. Basket Esch outrebounded Sparta 47-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Serbian-Hungarian Momcilo Latinovic (198-89, college: N.Mexico Highlands, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American swingman Zeke Upshaw (198-91, college: Hofstra) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Dean Gindt (201-91) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Gary Johnson (198-91, college: Albany) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Sparta players scored in double figures. Basket Esch maintains fourth place in League with 15-13 record. Loser Sparta keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
