Regular Season Round 26: Torrelodones - Azuqueca 73-67

There was an upset when higher ranked Azuqueca (15-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Torrelodones (9-14) 73-67 on Saturday. Azuqueca was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Torrelodones, which allowed them to win the game. Center Jordan Shako (209-97, agency: Beo Basket) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ruben Portes (192-81) chipped in 22 points during the contest. American forward Faronte Drakeford (201-92, college: Cent.Conn.St.) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import guard Leroy Isler (196-91, college: UALR) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Azuqueca players scored in double figures. Torrelodones moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Gran Canaria. Loser Azuqueca dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Torrelodones will face Gran Canaria (#8) on the road in the next round. Azuqueca will play against Real Canoe (#7) and hope to win that game.
