Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Charleville-Mez. (18-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Bourges (21-4) 88-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bourges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Bourges especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 78.6 percentage. International swingman Celine Dumerc (169-82, agency: Comsport) fired 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. British Johannah Leedham (180-87, college: Franklin Pierce) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Bourges players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bourges. Defending champion maintains second place with 21-4 record having just two points less than leader Lattes Montp. Loser Charleville-Mez. dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Bourges will face Arras (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Charleville-Mez. will play against Angers (#11) and hope to win that game.
