Everything went according to plan when second ranked Araski AES (21-5) defeated on the road 9th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (11-15) 67-63 on Saturday. Arxil Pontevedra was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Araski AES, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Cristina Molinuevo (179-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 steals. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (181-83) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Araski AES's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Venezuelan center Ana Roman (192-82) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Maria Lago (-92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. They have an impressive six-game winning streak. Araski AES maintains second position in Group A with 21-5 record having just two points less than leader Alcobendas. Arxil Pontevedra lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost.
