Regular Season Round 32: Rueil - Maurienne 74-69

Date: April 16, 2016
The game in Rueil was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Aix-Maurienne (18-14) played at the court of sixth ranked Rueil (19-13). Rueil managed to secure a 5-point victory 74-69 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aix-Maurienne won third quarter 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rueil made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Jonathan Mitchell (200-87, college: Rutgers, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Senegalese center Moise Diame (205-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and Gambian forward Moses Sonko (197-83, college: Co.Carolina, agency: HMS) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Rueil moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Aix-Maurienne lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Rueil will face league's leader ADA Blois on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aix-Maurienne will play against Vendee Challans (#13) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
